“A lot of time, thought and energy goes into installing installation pieces. The space itself plays a huge part in the audiences experience of the piece and I take all aspects of every space into consideration when choosing how to situate and light a work for display. Navigating the work in the space myself and imagining how the viewers will feel when entering the space and taking the experience in. It is of great pleasure for me to do the best I can to make it a captivating and moving experience for those who come to visit.”

“One of my aims with this work was to make a piece large enough for the audience to walk in and around for themselves. Often we can hope for these things but you can never be 100% sure how an audience will react. I had wondered if the audience may feel reserved, or not feel comfortable to walk in and around the work and just view it from a distance. Many, many works have a strict look but don’t come too close, don’t touch label so I wondered if this may cause a barrier for the audience. I was intrigued to see how the audience would respond to this piece. At the opening I took time to stand back and observe the way in which the audience engaged. It was a real joy for me to watch & see how much these children loved running and playing in and around my artwork, leaving me with a feeling of yes!”
